I took a short road trip to Santa Fe yesterday to do a site visit for work. On my way back, I stopped at the outlet mall on Cerrillos Road to stock up on some necessities. You see, I love Jones NY ready-to-wear and needed some new jeans. I scored 3 pairs that fit beautifully, if a little long. If I decide to hem, I'll wait until after several washings--no flood pants, please! I also resupplied my underwear drawer at L'eggs Haines Bali, and picked up some treats at Harry and David. Alas, I ran out of steam by the time I hit Liz Claiborne, 9 West, and Coach. The outlet mall seemed in danger of closing for a while, but it seems like the established stores are doing well.
I realize Santa Fe is a major tourist venue and you all are probably saying, "But Nancy, why not go to the Plaza or Canyon Road or Museum Hill?" Well, Santa Fe is only an hour away so it's easy to head up any time. Some visits are bound to be more routine than others. It's a lovely drive even if you don't go there for anything special.

Greetings, and congratulations on your entry to the blogging world. Mine is new also.
My husband and I visited New Mexico last fall, and I certainly appreciate why you would take a drive in the Santa Fe area. We just loved it coming through from there to Albuquerque, and of course through the mountains from the north into Santa Fe. So much to see, so little time.
